Highlight:
The mitigation of CO2 emission from various point sources such as natural gas, flue gas, biogas and coal gasification products is the primary concern today as CO2 seems to be the largest contributor to global warming. Furthermore, CO2 is an unwanted impurity in the natural gas stream which reduces the calorific value and makes the gas stream corrosive. As a result, the possibilities of gas compression get reduced and the transport pipelines suffer from corrosion. Although a number of works have been performed in the field of CO2 capture using different technologies, the membrane-based approach has proven its excellence as it is cost-effective, easy to handle, and less energy intensive.
